Cartier has recently launched a new collection of perfumes and it’s calling out to the rose lover in me. As someone who’s obsessed (and I mean, obsessed) with the scent, the ‘I Only Love Wild Roses’ line is great for when I feel like switching things up yet still maintain the sweet and sensual charm that the flower holds.
What’s great about this range is that each of the three scents that have been designed by Cartier’s perfumer, Mathilde Laurent, comes with its own identity. As she set out to change the archetype of the rose, the flower’s ideal image is translated into three fragrances that exude bold and unyielding personalities – each of which I would accentuate with the different moods I’m in, and here’s how:
When I need a boost: Pure Rose EDT, RM1,120
If I’m looking to freshen up my senses, the Pure Rose Eau De Toilette is what I’d spritz on. Described as a no-frills ‘naked rose’ perfume, the natural, raw and full-of-life fragrance makes for an excellent energiser at the start of the week!
When I’m feeling determined: L’Heure Osée EDP, RM1,120
As the ‘punk rose’ of the group that rejects everything sweet and girlie, L’Heure Osée Eau De Parfum is what I’d go for when I’m feeling adventurous – be it in my style options or day-to-day activities. It’s definitely a scent that matches that unstoppable and tenacious feeling.
When I’m feeling mysterious: Oud & Pink Parfum, RM1,420
There’s something about wearing a cologne that gives me an enigmatic yet fearless aura. Although most of them are usually a little too strong for my liking, this Oud & Pink Parfum effortlessly combines floral and masculine notes, making it a genderless scent that anyone can wear!
