On Valentine’s Day, we got the chance to step into Stuart Vevers’s world where we saw how he’d narrate the American heritage to the younger generation through the items that were showcased on the runway. Featuring set pieces designed to bring back memories of American towns and choreographed vignettes that depicted the daily lives of those who live in this town today, Stuart’s aim through this collection was to express Coach’s collective imagination and celebrate the way the next generation is rewriting today's story in their own way. To top it off, Stuart also presented an updated version of Coach’s Sling bag from 1964 that was seen throughout the show. Ahead are the five highlights that caught our attention.

1. Babydoll dresses in geometric prints

Breathing new life into these one-piece outfits, the geometric prints on the white-collared dresses are filled with optimism and energy. Styled with leather chokers, neon sunglasses and printed Mary Janes, the dresses exude a positive vibe and serve as a reminder that there are better days for us to look forward to!

2. Crochet dresses

We’ve seen crochet dresses in the form of a maxi, tutu or swimwear in the past, but this time around, Coach has decided to bring vintage tunic dresses back. To spice things up, pops of colours in the form of belts, ribbons and buttons were added to the pieces and the looks were made complete with baseball caps and leather chokers.

3. Leather bands from the ’70s

One of the elements from the suburban culture that’ll never go out of style is the use of leather and we love how it was incorporated into all the looks that were featured in the show. Be it in the form of boots, bags, trench coats, vests or arm bands, the leather factor can give anyone the edgy look they desire, instantly.

4. Monogram T-shirts with graphic art

Graffiti will always be an important element in the American culture, and we were excited to see Coach collaborate with graffiti artists, Mint & Serif. The splash of print at the centre of these tees that are styled in multiple ways reveals how anyone can fully utilise basic pieces for various occasions.

5. Shearling coats

Breaking away from the norm, we saw how Coach revealed unconventional ways of styling these shearling coats by pairing them with bralettes, and beneath and over the monogram tees. What surprised us more was the splash of colours on these coats – neon green, orange, purple and yellow – that made the pieces stand out compared to the single-coloured ones.
