Last week, we saw a revolutionary fashion show concept at Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2021 Men’s Spin-off show in Seoul featuring K-pop icons and House Ambassadors, BTS, in a sci-fi-like film that staged a conversation between space, movement and global connectivity. Held at Art Bunker B39, an art and culture space just outside the city, the 5-storey building that hosts a 39-metre-tall bunker was refurbished in 2018 to become an art and culture space while preserving its history and exceptional architecture.
To connect the dots, the film is a continuation of Virgil’s concept of ‘The Voyage’ that kicked off in 2020. With the core message of the show surrounding ‘hope’, which we’re all in dire need of now, the brand reveals how it’s working towards a goal of making the LV global community meet up in different parts of the world. More than that, LV’s making a stand on personal style and character through the show. Out of the 41 looks, 34 were new looks while seven were worn by the BTS guys – J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Suga and V, which we couldn’t take our eyes off:
The hints of pink on J-Hope’s wax-printed suit that was layered over a silk and cotton shirt and paired with red cowboy boots brought out the rapper’s fun personality that we’re all used to seeing on screen!
As the first star to make an appearance in the LV film, Jimin walked into the scene with panache. Dressed in a travertine marble wool suit, the singer’s mysterious side was well played through the combination of the accessories he showcased – golden visor shades with rust orange lenses and a silver monogram PVC tote bag.
Looking at Jin’s adventurous personality, we weren’t surprised at all to see his colourful get-up! The combination of red and black tartan on the oversized coat was layered over a padded vest and a blue and white classic shirt to bring out his fun side. To top it off, the green and white litter bag made the singer-songwriter look even cooler than he already is!
Dressed in a blue and white striped classic cotton shirt and black pants layered with an oversized woollen overcoat that came with jewel airplane buttons, Jungkook played his part well as the star who’s always on the go! To complete his look, he was spotted carrying a modern classic LV bag.
Being the chatty one of the lot, RM’s silver monogram PVC briefcase trunk is a fine example of a conversation starter. Paired with a black woollen coat that came adorned with jewel airplane buttons and a black fedora, RM’s look is sure to dazzle you even at a glance!
Known as the cool fashionista to everyone, Suga didn’t disappoint his fans (and us!) when he was seen with the green and black embossed bag slung across his chest that had Lawrence Weiner’s ‘Same place at the same time’ strap spelled out in full glory. Worn over a black woollen jewel button suit, Suga is indeed a trendsetter in his own distinct way!
As the saying goes, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ applies to V, who’s known to be quiet but has a hidden fun side that very few know about or are able to see. The subtle hints of red on his black and red wool-windowpane suit and red leather chest pocket card holder made brilliant accents to his overall look!
