1. Hasrat Syawal Tok – Celcom

With all the qualms that we have about the vaccination program that’s being rolled out in Malaysia, this ad teaches us to be strong and go forth with our decision to go for it. As much as others can give their input and air their concerns, the important element here is to believe in yourself and block out the unnecessary for your own wellbeing.

2. Andaian – Digi Telecommunications

As the saying goes, assumptions are the termites of all relationships, and this ad teaches us to avoid making assumptions about our loved ones without finding out more. It also touches on the importance of reaching out to the less fortunate and spreading joy and love during this season of giving and forgiving.

3. Salam Eid-Moji – Gamuda Land

When it comes to dealing with kids with special needs, trust is what you need the most and this ad addresses this issue well. While people in general might have different ways of looking at them, all they need is that one person they can trust and look up to, and who’s willing to step out of their comfort zone to make a difference in their lives.

4. Ini Iklan Raya, Tau?! – Julie’s

Not only is this ad extremely hilarious, it comes with plenty of hidden messages as well! We love how the characters addressed important issues pertaining to gender inequality, general perception and more. As much as women are the ones who are mostly in charge of the kitchen during Raya (which was also highlighted here), it doesn’t mean that they don’t have opinions about important issues in society today.

5. Raya Si Sakan – Maxis

During uncertain times like these, this ad teaches us how to lend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters, no matter where they are in Malaysia. While some of us might be enjoying a little extra ‘rezeki’ this Raya, it’s important for us to support our local brands and vendors so that they too can have a good Raya with their loved ones.

6. Kuih Bangkit Atia – MyTown KL

Retrenchment has been one of the biggest fears in our lives ever since the Covid-19 pandemic started as none of us can predict what’s going to happen in the coming weeks or months. However, this ad teaches us that even if we lose our full-time jobs, we can always find other ways of making ends meet. As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens, and our parents will not judge us as long as we earn a living honestly.

7. Mangkuk Tingkat Mak Teh – Saji

With everything that’s going on around us today, this ad shows us that we can’t undo time but it also reminds us to make the best of what we can with our loved ones while they’re still around. While we might not fully understand why our elders do certain things, it’s only fair if we let them do things their way and be their pillar of support in good times and bad.

8. Tradisi Di Hati, Setia Di Sisi – Setia

In this digitally-advanced and fast-paced world, many of us might have become detached with one another over the years. With everything available instantly through mobile phone apps, this Setia ad reminds us about the importance of spending quality time with our family even if it means spending long hours cooking and prepping for Raya. So instead of sighing, take time off from your mobile devices and work together to create everlasting memories with those around you this Raya.
