To go for colour or power-packed performance this time around? If you managed to tune in to the Wonderlust event earlier today, you’d know that Apple is giving us quite the challenge in picking between both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models – and honestly, we’re undecided because we want them all for different reasons!

Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing said, “iPhone15 and iPhone 15 Plus represent a huge leap forward with exciting camera innovations that inspire creativity, the intuitive Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic chip for proven powerful performance. We’re also pushing the power of computational photography to new levels this year with a 48MP Main camera featuring a new 24MP default for super high-resolution photos, a new 2x Telephoto option and next-generation portraits.”

On the indispensable companion of mostly creative users, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak said, “This is the most pro line-up we’ve ever created, with a state-of-the-art titanium design, the best iPhone camera system yet that enables game-changing new workflows and the A17 chip which ushers in a new chapter of performance and games never before seen on iPhone. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max represent the best of Apple design and industry-first innovations to help enrich the everyday experiences of our users while enabling them to unleash their creativity.”

Before you make your mind up on the next iPhone to invest in, check out the specs of the two new models below (or four, if you’re going based on sizes) to find out which one would meet your daily lifestyle needs best.

A huge leap forward for iPhone, the A16 Bionic chip brings proven efficient performance to both models and powers the Dynamic Island, computational photography capabilities and more. The 6-core CPU is faster than before and easily handles intensive tasks while delivering extraordinary life – even when you’re editing or streaming videos, or playing games. Its stunning new design in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes features a durable, colour-infused back glass with a textured matte finish and a contoured edge on the aluminium enclosure – and both models come in four of the sweetest pastel shades you won’t be able to resist and Black for those who like to stick to basics.

You’ll find the Dynamic Island that was introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro models last year handy – it’s the innovative way to interact with important alerts and Live Activities, after all. The 48MP Main camera with a new 2x Telephoto option gives you a total of three optical zoom levels (like you have three cameras in hand!) and helps you take fantastic photos of everyday moments including portraits with great detail and in low-light settings.

Both models use a USB-C connector for charging and transferring data – the same cable you can use to charge the Mac, iPad and updated 2nd-gen AirPods Pro. iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus also feature iOS 17 that makes iPhone even more personal and intuitive with new capabilities.

They don’t call this the preferred smartphone for creative pros and filmmakers for nothing, as these two models in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes get even better with new pro workflows! Featuring a strong yet lightweight titanium design (a first for iPhone!) with new contoured edges, the Pro models are the lightest you’ll ever come across. Equipped with A17 Pro for next-level performance and mobile gaming and featuring iOS 17, the two models come with an all-new customisable Action button that replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent on previous models. The Action button allows you to personalise your iPhone experience with additional options so you can choose between quickly accessing the camera or flashlight, activating Voice Memos, Focus modes, Translate and accessibility features like Magnifier, or using Shortcuts for more options. A press-and-hold gesture with fine-tuned haptic feedback and visual cues in the Dynamic Island ensures that the new button launches what you intend for it to.

Meanwhile, the powerful camera upgrades are translated to the equivalent of seven pro lenses with image quality that will blow your mind, including a more advanced 48MP Main camera system. Improvements have been made to Night mode and Smart HDR, while an all-new 5x Telephoto camera can be found exclusively on iPhone 15 Pro Max. Next-gen portraits on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature sharper detail, more vivid colours and better low-light performance – three qualities which are always on our wish list!

The Pro models come with the new USB-C connector that’s supercharged with USB 3 speeds and is up to 20x faster than USB 2. Need we say more?
