Staying indoors for weeks on end during this MCO has definitely taken a toll on my mental health. The lack of social and physical interaction mixed with overconsumption of social media has left me in need of some positive vibes, and H&M’s latest collaboration is truly the answer to that!
Joining hands with Yrsa Daley-Ward, a performer, storyteller and writer (who has also contributed to Beyonce’s Black Is King visual album), H&M has launched a loungewear range featuring quotes from some of Yrsa’s powerful poems in the form of affirmations.
With topics that deal with self-worth and self-appreciation, the pieces which include longline Bermuda shorts, slogan sweatshirts and oversized tees are both comforting yet empowering. Plus, they’re all constructed in sustainably-sourced materials like recycled polyamide and organic cotton, so not only will you be getting a dose of self-care, but you’re also being mindful of your outfit choices! #doublewin

1. Sweatshirt in Light Khaki Green, RM74.95
I love oversized sweatshirts and this sage-green piece would make me feel like I’m wearing a warm hug on cooler days! Plus, it’s got such a meaningful quote that reads: “If you have to fold to fit in, it ain’t right.” – a reminder for me to always be my true self.

2. Cotton Sweatshirt Shorts in Cream, RM54.95
You can’t go wrong with a pair of shorts and this one’s perfect for our tropical weather. Made of organic cotton sweatshirt fabric, this loose-fit knee-length pair fits snugly on the waist and even comes with pockets, which is a total #yay in my books!

3. Oversized T-shirt in Grey, RM54.95
I’m always dressed in an old tee at home, so upgrading to a comfy oversized T-shirt with dropped shoulders isn’t a bad idea especially when it comes in an organic cotton jersey with a heart-warming quote taken from Yrsa’s book, Bone: “There will always be your heart”.
