With the pandemic affecting so many of us, access to basic needs and healthcare facilities for disadvantaged children become even more challenging. That’s where Louis Vuitton and UNICEF comes in with their newest collaboration to help raise awareness and fund for the kids in some of the toughest areas in the world.
‘Silver Lockit’ Bracelets and ‘Doudou Louis’
Since its creation in 2016, the ‘Silver Lockit’ symbolises the promise to help children who are at risk. Today, the collaboration sees four new colourways of the unisex bracelet: pastel blue, pink, celadon green and black. Each bracelet features the House’s iconic padlock in a miniature format engraved with its signature circular logo, plus the LV Circle charm hanging loose. Wear them stacked or solo on your wrists or even as a matching set with your BFF or partner as a promise of love and friendship – I would totally pick the latter!
Aside from that, the new collection includes the beloved ‘Doudou Louis’ teddy bear that’s made completely out of fabric – a first for the brand! Constructed with Monogram prints in pastel rainbow shades and embroidered Monogram flowers as its blue eyes, the ‘Doudou Louis’ would make a great gift for loved ones – young and old. Pair him and the bracelets together and he’s got himself his own tiny necklace!
How you’ll be making a difference
As part of the House’s #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, by purchasing the ‘Silver Lockit’ bracelet which retails at RM1,950, and the ‘Doudou Louis’ at RM3,700, you’d be donating US$100 (about RM400) and US$200 (about RM810) respectively to UNICEF to help vulnerable children around the world. Raising close to US$13 million (about RM52.55 million) since the line was launched, we can only imagine how much more it’s raised today.
Not only that, the brand has also taken a step towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle as the Louis Vuitton for UNICEF ‘Silver Lockit’ Bracelets and ‘Doudou Louis’ are made with recycled sterling silver and organic cotton.
