Last Friday marked a new milestone for Celine as the French luxury brand opened the doors of its concept store in Pavilion KL. Spanning 316 square metres over two floors, the store integrates a new architectural concept designed by Hedi Slimane, the brand’s Artistic, Creative and Image Director – which, in a nutshell, means that it is aesthetically pleasing even at a glance.

Spanning 316 square metres over two floors, the store integrates a new architectural concept designed by Hedi Slimane, the brand’s Artistic, Creative and Image Director – which, in a nutshell, means that it is aesthetically pleasing even at a glance.
Expect a juxtaposition of the finest materials that create a balanced and spacious sculptural interior. Natural stones such as Basaltina, cream-veined black granite, ginger, Grand Antique marble, Grey Travertine and Grigio Carnico are used to complement other materials like brass, concrete, polished stainless steel and gold mirrors. A mini library made of reclaimed oak that sits in the centre of the ground floor holds a curated collection of books on architecture, art and photography by which Hedi is inspired.
Bespoke Brutalist furniture – also designed by Hedi – complements the overall polished and sleek look of the store and is arranged symmetrically so that everything you see is easy on the eyes. Check out the VIP lounge on the top floor that comes with its own changing room for a luxury experience like no other. While you’re at it, take a closer look at the bronze sculpture called L’Elan by internationally-acclaimed French artist, Hedva Ser, which is on display.
